Hey everyone! Heads up. Very soon, I’ll be posting an update concerning our plans for BronyCon! This post will also address what we aim to do for our online audience. Check it out! It’ll be up soon!
If journey of the spark wins in film festivals, what will you do?
Journey of the Spark is a non-profit fan-based production. Due to copyright laws, our movie cannot be entered in film festivals or competitions.
Its distribution will be limited solely to websites online or screenings at fan-based conventions.
in Journey Of The Spark, were the "puppet rigs" built or were they downloaded from Deviant art? if built, what was the process in making them?
All of the puppet rigs for Journey of the Spark were built from the ground up in Flash.
i know you said there wont be any pony vids after release of journey but does that mean never ever? i mean not the following year or anytime soon but someday in the distant future would there be more pony?
Well, let’s think reasonably for a second and forgive me if I sound rude in how I word this. Just know its not my intention as this question doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I just wanna let people know where we’re coming from.
Journey of the Spark has been in production since 2011. Considering how massive in scale the project is and how long we’ve been working on the project, do you think its really fair to ask for another pony animation when we’ve spent so long working on just ONE? This isn’t Double Rainboom or Snowdrop in terms of length. This isn’t some 20 minute animation. This is a full-length 100 plus minute long movie. After finishing something that huge, the team and I just wouldn’t really feel up for creating something else when we’ve already made this huge contribution to the community.
Plus, if we continue making pony videos, then we’ll never be able to grow in terms of diversity as an animation studio. We have to broaden our horizons otherwise people will get the firm belief that we’re nothing more than just a one trick pony (no pun intended).
Quality over quantity. That’s the point I’m trying to frame. I’d rather go out with a bang by leaving the community with one amazing movie rather than a bad movie and other pony animations to follow it.
