No I don’t actually. I’m still learning the basics of how flash puppets/builds work in Flash. I’m hoping to learn over the course of the film’s production though!
I’m making two videos right now actually! One exclusively for the Tumblr blog and then a full-length update video on the progress of the film.
My methods of directing an animated feature are very much the same way that I would direct a live action film.
Most of our discussions when we’re working on the film are done over Skype. But even when we’re storyboarding or I’m asking the VA’s to record something or we’re working on animation and backgrounds and such, I pretty much direct someone as though I was literally in Equestria and I was filming the action with a camera.
So in a way, I treat almost all of my cast and crew as though they were literally filming a movie on set because even in Animation, the standard rules of film have to apply. The conventional rules of filmmaking that you normally see in a live action film have to also be applied to animation. That’s just how filmmaking works.
So I’m pretty much there almost all the time when it comes to the artistic values of the film’s production. But a majority of the time, I give my cast and crew as much creative freedom as possible to let them get what they want across while also heavily giving my creative input on how to get my vision on the big screen.
Still though, its fun to imagine I’m a pony directing a whole group of other ponies to make a film XD
I honestly don’t know. In fact, I don’t even know what the hell the Webby awards are XD I’m assuming they’re for Internet Media and such but I have no idea if Fan-Films could be nominated.
