I'm sure you've noticed, but on paper the premise of Twilight screwing up and being shunned by everyone she loves sounds uncannily similar to "A Canterlot Wedding". Even more uncanny is how the movie takes place after this episode. Will the movie make any reference to this? And while we're on the subject, did the episode air before or after you came up with the premise?Canterlot Wedding came after we had the premise already planned out. In fact, bringing Chrysalis and the changelings into the film was an impulse decision I made after viewing the episode!
The movie does reference a few episodes but we managed to write the film in a way so it doesn’t feel like we’re rehashing old material.
