New Longest Brawl Updates!

Its been a while since we last updated about The Longest Brawl. Fear not though, for we’ve got a new update for you all today and boy is it a doozy!

Perhaps the biggest thing to announce is that Longest Brawl is going to be changing from a movie to an episodic series! The producers and I are currently developing the project so we can expand the story and flesh out all the details we weren’t capable of doing in a movie format.

Right now, we’re planning out a pilot and additional episodes to follow. We’re hoping that episodes for the series will run at 15 minutes. With this, fans of our work won’t have to wait nearly as long to see material being released since the project will be a little more condensed but still have the quality we value!

On top of this, two new characters are being added to the Main Cast. Being added to the character roster are:

  • Lucina (Fire Emblem: Awakening)
  • Fi (The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword)

We’ll be announcing more things throughout the rest of the year including a Casting date for when we will open auditions to the public. Until then, stay tuned for more!

A Response to the Cease and Desist Questions

Its a dark time currently in the fandom for all of us. With the recent news of the highly-anticipated Fighting is Magic being shut down by a Cease and Desist from Hasbro, I have been receiving countless questions, E-Mails, and letters asking me to make a statement on what the future of Journey of the Spark is going to be like.

Its incredibly devastating that Fighting is Magic was so close to completion, but I must ask all of you to remain calm. I’m eternally grateful that all of you are scared, frightened, and worried about the film’s future. While I cannot make any broad statements about how this event will affect Journey of the Spark, I can assure you that my team and I are taking all necessary precautions to deal with the situation. At the moment, we are currently trying to get in contact with Hasbro again. In the meantime, I only ask that you remain patient and hopeful.

But I ask from the bottom of my heart: please, please, PLEASE do not blame all of these take-downs solely on Hasbro. They are, first and foremost, a company. It is within their jurisdiction to protect their original IP’s as they see fit. This could be one of the primary reasons as to why Fighting is Magic’s take-down was requested. If Journey of the Spark falls into the category that they feel our product is interfering with how they want the IP to be portrayed, then they have every right to submit a Cease and Desist.

I thank all of you for understanding and I once again appreciate all of your wonderful enthusiasm and support. Thank you very much.
